About the PI
My formal training is in Earth sciences and biology, specifically evolution and population genetics. I received by PhD from UCLA in 2015 and have worked in marginal marine and terrestrial systems to understand how Earth processes shape the diversification of life broadly. I like data-rich, complex problems that require creative approaches and lots of statistics. Species evolve not in a vacuum but as part of Earth’s ever-changeable landscape and there is nothing more beautiful than that. My goal is to uncover, quantify, and formalize that relationship as much as possible.
If you are interested in working as part of our group, I value enthusiasm to learn most. Unique viewpoints, quantitative skills, good communication, independence, and ability to work cohesively with a team are also highly valued. If you are interested email me below
